It is sparingly soluble in cold water, soluble in hot water, and readily soluble in ammonia water without structural changes of the compound.It is mainly used for platinum plating in cyanide-free electroplating. The resulting platinum coating has high hardness, low electrical resistance and excellent weldability, and is often applied to the surface plating of electronic components.
